Put a feather in my cap

This green felt hat was a great find, only about £8 or something from a local vintage shop. The feathers were covered though with dark green netting so you could hardly see them. I removed the netting so it looks a lot nicer now, but I understand now why the netting was there, the feathers have a tendency to get very ruffled/fall out! So now I'm on the look out for some very fine netting to put over them so I don't moult everywhere!
The black off-the-shoulder top is soon to be put in my etsy shop, its so adorable and easy to wear!
On another note I've finally finished my commissioned illustration of my mum's 1930s bold print dress which you can see in the background of the photos (you can recap here) I've got to frame it still but it's done and I'm very happy with it! I'm thinking of doing some prints of it, what do you think, would anyone be interested?

Romance is in the cuffs

This beautiful, wonderful, amazing dress is in my shop now! I had lots of fun playing around in the tiniest square of sunshine, the only sunshine I'd seen all day!

Babydoll Blues

Playing around in this super soft vintage cotton babydoll recently. The weather is so grim I just want to curl up in bed with my bunny, play dress up and eat porridge all day long.

Lovely Lace

Some scans of beautiful lace remnants and whole rolls of trimming. (There's a cheeky bit of crochet in there too!) My aunt gave me a big bag of this stuff a while ago and whenever I'm making something I can delve in the bag and find something cute to use, it's really lovely and useful to have. I'm currently cutting out some flower motifs from a big piece of lace to help cover and strengthen weak spots in a pair of 1940s cami-knickers I'm rejuvenating to be sold. Lace is a very useful thing indeed.

Goldilocks

Simple, tasty food is the best! I've been making apple, cinnamon and sultana porridge this week since Nancy (who I work for) mentioned she had apple and cinnamon porridge one morning. I added a little cream to this morning's porridge mix for extra creaminess and topped it with chopped dried dates, soft brown sugar and walnuts. Perfect! I've made a batch of the appley goodness to have for a couple more mornings, but it takes about 10 minutes to make. I peeled and chopped 2 cooking apples, put them in a pan with 2 tablespoons of water, let them cook away until they turned mushy then added  2 heaped teaspoons of soft brown sugar and half a teaspoon of cinnamon with a sprinkling of sultanas, let that cook for a little bit then add it to the cooked porridge and voilĂ , tasty and moderately healthy breakfast! Breakfast is my favourite meal of the day, what do you like to make in the mornings?

My heart's in the post

Because I have no money and I enjoy doing it I mainly make presents for friends and family at the moment. I made this little pink heart for my friend Olivia's birthday and sent it to her in the post. Then there are a couple of shots of my room at the moment, I lovelovelove that silver embroidered bag that's hanging off of my mirror, it's been such a big source of inspiration for me with its delicate little acorns dangling at the bottom of it. The last photo is of the most adorable babydoll dress I'm going to be selling in my etsy shop, it's non-identical-colour twin is here. I took some fun/silly photos of me posing like a sleepy baby inspired by the film 'Marie Poupee' in this dress which I'll be putting up very soon...

Berry Plaits

I thought my silk shirt went really nicely with these berries, so I asked my partner to take some photos of me in front of them. He made me laugh too much so in most of them I'm about to crack heehee! Think I need to put some poppers on this shirt, alas the chest is too much for it. Spent a while fixing this coat the other night, always thousands of repairs to do on all my clothes, but it has all gotta be worth it for the things you love! This outfit definitely cheered me up today. Now off to do some baking, just found a recipe for Welsh cakes mmm...
